As you may have guessed Blogging this semester was a first for me. I felt like I must of been the only one, NOT TRUE, I found out that several people had never blogged before. I enjoyed it. I think it all worked well for me this semester. A slow start but I ended up picking up the pace. I used this site to write down my thoughts even when it was not required. My Favorite post was the part time Indian where Arnold was slit into to people. I enjoyed feeling so connected with the book. My least Favorite was hummmm...I guess label it this. I think I began building strength after the first few blogs. Do I think Id be blogging again? No probably not because the only reason it worked this time was because of you guys. I had hoped some of you would read what I had wrote. It was creative and fun.
so, am I suppost to create a second entry for my multi media? ok this is the deal... I worked so hard for countless hours (8 or more) I had a power point presentation actually I made 2 of them but after 337 attempts to upload it in EVERY FILE TYPE I was unsuccessful . I didnt know what to do I have a link but even that does not work. Ill provide it and please go to it to see my presentation of 5 flower pictures

SWEENEY TODD
Thursday 3, May 2012 EXTRA CREDIT
Tonight I took myself to watch Sweeney Todd at the JC. This weekend is the last few days of this performance and I am sure glad I did not miss it.
The play begins with the Judge arresting an innocent person for a crime he did not do. The stage was dark, the perfect
setting for Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The set was in the 1930's in London. The towns people are all working
class and after 15 years Todd returns and vows revenge against the judge. Todd's equally as talented counter part was a women
who owns a bakery, Mrs. Lovett. She is a meat pie maker and makes the worst tasting pies in London. The musical was a tragic
story. The couple killed most of the towns people by way of slashing their throats. Todd is a close shaving killer who uses his
blades to kill and refers to them as his arm being complete again. The show was amazing filled with chills, thrills and death.
From there it goes into " My Friends." This is where it really started getting good. It became very dark and bitter sweet.
Todd is hell-bent on revenge.
Love was in the air for the two lovers but is over powered by the stench of blood. The visuals were great. The goth story
with their terrific performances made the entire 2 and a half hour show worth watching. I found myself at times at the edge of
my seat. The entire cast deserves thanks for a terrific show. I could see that alot of work had gone into the making and
planning of this show. Fortunately for me this musical turned out to be charming. The song lyrics were endlessly dreadful. At
times the lyrics had a black, piercing poetry to them. Along with the goth like attitudes there was a central tone of humor.
For example, the cut throat that was repeated half a dozen times was exaggerated. Revenge has always provoked the worst in
our behavior. In this case the revenge was killing everyone in London. The musical touched on every impulse towards evil .
The audance found themselves laughing right along with Todd and Lovett as they planned on putting PEOPLE in Mrs. Lovett's pie's.

Movie Review
IRON MAN a 2008 movie staring Robert Downey Jr. HE IS THE MAN!
Iron Man is an original Marvel Comic charter and as in the comic Iron Man has super powers. Tony Stark, played by Downey, is a
very successful weapons maker and during a sale of a bomb he is kidnapped and held hostage. He is told to make a bomb. Instead he designed a suit capable of flying. After working on it for months Tony faces his attackers suited wearing the Iron Man suit. After defeating the terriosts Tony returns home to the USA. He is recognized as a hero.
Downey does an awesome job playing the lead roll in this movie. He has charisma and style. He is funny and sarcastic and
has many 1 liners through out the movie. Gwyneth Paltrow who plays Pepper Potts and Tony Starks personal assistant. She too does a great job in this movie. Both have a good scene of humor and it is displayed clearly in the movie. The similar ATTITUDES work well together making this movie a pleasure to watch over and over and over again. The AC DC album is another added bonus to already great movie.
I would recommend anybody who has not watched Iron Man to get it tonight.

Part Time Indian Extra Credit
extra credit that is....
neway I wanted to blogg my new knowledge. Rowdy calles Jounior a NOMAD A nomad is a person who wonders from place to place. Someone who moves according to the seasons. Describes Jounior....right?
At the very end of the story after a basketball game where Arnold actually beats Rowdy (the toughest kid on the rz)Rowdy refers to Arnold as a nomad. He says most people including himself are not nomatic. It actually refers to old Indians being Nomatic. They move place to place in search of food and shelter and move according to the seasons. Rowdy says Jounior is Nomatic. He says that leaving the rez is what Indians use to do and continue to do, even Jounior. For along time Jounior blamed himself for his sisters death. Growing up he felt like he abandonded her and the family by leaving the Rez and switching schools. He felt guilty and ashamed but by leaving he was no less an Indian. In fact, by leaving he was not abandoning his tribe and he was no less an Indian. If anything he was only doing what other Indians did. It became clear to Rowdy one night in a dream. He saw Jounior living his dreams. In the dream Rowdy saw Jounior standing on the Great Wall Of China. Right at that moment he relised that Jounior was on his way to a better life. A happier life.
OMG did that make scense at all? that was tough to describe. oh well I hope U got the message. I did!!!

Michaelangelo's David
Sculpting is considered the finest are form because it mimics Divine Creation.
First to ignite was the 3 years it took to create and finish the sculpture. Critics doubted the success of the sculpture. At the unveiling people were shocked over the bold, large sculpture of a naked man. A writer early on recording measurements of David recorded his height incorrectly. Davis was a symbol and stood for Courage. Protector and guardian of the city of Florence. So life life the marvel statue stood baring the gentiles and pubic hair area. Some critics over the years have tried to appropriately change the sculpture by placing a fig leaf over the bare area. They were eventually told to dis-guard the leaf as originated. Many reproductions of David stand at various locations around the world. Some where in between David went from contravercy to classic. You can now find a reproduction of the image censored or uncensored, , or on t-shirts, or in advertising.
So
at this point I stopped and put myself in that time in history. I thought about the town size, and the
clothes they wore. I can imagine
everybody knew everybody for miles around.
It was common in the 1940’s for Doctors to make home visits if someone
was ill. So I can only imagine the crowd
of critics that surrounded the art expressed in any form. Religious organizations and citizen groups
tried demanding a stop to Violence. They
were all for the halting of all comic books.
The critics have referred to the comic story line as cruel. In 1954 a
U.S Senate Subcommittee with Juvenile Delinquency held a hearing which demanded
certain Authorities to limit the violent theme in any art form. Also that year
what is now referred to ass The Code was emplaced and is strictly enforced? The Code is a list of shall and Shall Not
Do’s in the art society.
Every
day for years there has been controversy in the world over a number of things. Controversy is ignited over a countless
number of things. Media is a source of
controversy. Media is the closest resource
we have to the “Upper Class”. Americans throughout
time have relied on media to be the truth. We stood by patiently waiting for a
command.
Finally, Can violent works of art in any form cause someone to act in a violent way?
I
am running out of steam so I asked my 21 year old son Mark Nakamura. He brought up his little brother. In a previous example I also used him as an
example. Anyway he answered the question
with his little brother in mind. Mark
said, “Yes. I saw the different it made
in my little brother. I noticed his
behavior become more violent. His
imagination was vivid and of death and dying.
He was interested in Death and how it happened. My little brother was far too young to be
knowledge in gun’s and shootings. He
should not be hip to the language they use in Prison.”
Over
the last few weeks my teacher has inspired me.
It is not her teaching, exactly, it is the work she puts into teaching
and learning for herself and shares with her class. I appreciate her for her
outlined work schedule and accept the challenge to see it through. I may not be good enough. Just know I tried. here it is
my blog my extra credit it is my
10 points response and my other miss un counted 25 points for responding to
other classmates blog. Yes mam I did do
it. Please add up my points. This repusents my hard work and research

Hate Violence response
Are Americans afraid to leave their homes because of all the violence the media reports?
It IS true that most of the time when you turn on the telivision the first thing you see is vioence. Either you watch it or hear about it all day long. The evening news is filled with awful events that destroy peoples personal lives. OUCH that kind of stung. Its true we live in a violent world. So why blame media for what ultimately is our desision. I enjoyed the reading , "Hate Violence, Turn It Off" written by Tim Goodman Pg 167. The author says, " Don't like it? Don't watch it." I strongly agree with that statement.
I'll tell you what I do no to be true about violent video games. I have 2 son's now my youngest is 14. At 8 years old He knew things that I had no idea if were true or not. Because of video games he knew all the Gun's, their make their model what they do and what they were capable of. He knew what a AK47 was. Besides that he knew the rest of the collection too. I was shocked.
Are you wondering if I still let him play violent video games or not? I did. Chock it up to something gained.
